Can I book a table at Tjaps?
Yes. For up to eight people you book online and get your confirmation straight away. From nine people onwards it runs through a short request, so we can look at the table and the menu together. Walking in is fine too, though Friday and Saturday are often full.
How many beers does Tjaps have on tap?
Twenty-three. Tjaps is the home of VAT'33 brewery, so their beers are always on, alongside guest taps that keep rotating. The live list is on our tap list page, including style and price per size.
Does Tjaps have vegetarian dishes?
Yes, there are vegetarian dishes on the card, from bar snacks to mains. The menu changes with the seasons, so check our menu page for what is on right now. Let us know in advance if you have an allergy or a strict diet.
Can I come with a large group?
From nine people we work with a request instead of the online booking. You pass on the date, time and group size, and we come back with the options, including an adjusted menu where that works better.
Can I park at Tjaps?
Tjaps is at Leeghwater 5 in Vathorst, Amersfoort. You park in the street and in the surrounding streets. On busy evenings it takes a little longer to find a spot, so allow extra time if you are coming with a larger group.
Can I bring my dog?
A calm dog is welcome in the bar after checking with us; just ask when you come in and we will see whether it works. Assistance and guide dogs are always welcome. This is also in our house rules.
Can I order takeaway from Tjaps?
Not yet. We are working on offering our dishes to take away as well. As soon as it is ready we will say so on our site and our socials. Until then you eat with us in the restaurant.
Where is Tjaps?
Tjaps is at Leeghwater 5, 3825 MR Amersfoort, in the Vathorst district. Our contact page has the opening hours, the phone number and a route link to Google Maps.
What is Vuur & Vat?
Vuur & Vat, fire and cask, is what we call our two anchors: the fire of the charcoal grill in the kitchen and the cask of twenty-three taps with VAT'33 and guest beers. Dinner and drinks under one roof, without the fuss.
