Yes. For up to eight people you book online and get your confirmation straight away. From nine people onwards it runs through a short request, so we can look at the table and the menu together. Walking in is fine too, though Friday and Saturday are often full.

Twenty-three. VAT'33, our own beer brand, is always on, alongside guest taps that keep rotating. The live list is on our tap list page, including style and price per size.

At Tjaps, Leeghwater 5 in Amersfoort-Vathorst. Our 23 taps pour our own VAT'33 beer next to rotating guest beers from the Netherlands and abroad, plus a bottle and can list. The tap list page shows live what is pouring right now.

VAT'33 is our own beer brand. It started at the Tjaps tap with Keiwit, a witbier; now there is a whole line, like KEIPA and Sloppy Joe. We have no brewing installation of our own: the beers are brewed in Amersfoort, at Rock City. You drink VAT'33 on tap at Tjaps and buy it at Hoptimaal, at the same address.

Both. Tjaps is a grill restaurant and craft beer bar in one: you eat steaks and burgers from the charcoal grill and drink from 23 taps, with VAT'33 as the constant. Dinner starts at 17:00, drinks all evening. In Vathorst since 2021.

Children are welcome at Tjaps, and we have high chairs. We are working on our own kids' menu, coming to the card soon. Until then, mention when booking that children are coming along and the kitchen will see what fits. More on our page about eating out with kids.

Yes, there are vegetarian dishes on the card, from bar snacks to mains. The menu changes with the seasons, so check our menu page for what is on right now. Let us know in advance if you have an allergy or a strict diet.

From nine people we work with a request instead of the online booking. You pass on the date, time and group size, and we come back with the options, including an adjusted menu where that works better.

Yes. When the weather is good, the terrace goes out, right in the middle of Vathorst. So a beer from the tap or a bite from the grill in the sun is on. When the weather is not playing along, you sit inside at the bar or in the restaurant.

No, we are closed on Mondays. From Tuesday to Sunday you are welcome; dinner starts at 17:00. Current opening hours, including around public holidays, are on our contact page.

Yes. On Sunday we open at 15:00 for a drink and a bite, and dinner starts at 17:00. Ideal for a quiet Sunday afternoon at the tap or an early dinner with the whole family. Current opening hours are on our contact page.

Yes, we show football, and in principle any match can go on: the Dutch national team, the Eredivisie, the Champions League or a foreign league. With 23 taps and a bar menu, you watch it at the bar. Want to be sure your match is on, or coming with a group? Give us a call.

Yes. Tjaps is at Leeghwater 5 in Vathorst, Amersfoort. You park for free in the large car park between the Jumbo and the Lidl, a few minutes walk away. On busy evenings it takes a little longer to find a spot, so allow extra time if you are coming with a larger group.

Yes. Amersfoort Vathorst station is a few minutes walk from Tjaps. You walk straight into the shopping centre to Leeghwater 5. Handy if you want to stay for one more beer from the tap.

A calm dog is welcome in the bar after checking with us; just ask when you come in and we will see whether it works. Assistance and guide dogs are always welcome. This is also in our house rules.

Yes. You order online at afhalen.tjapspub.nl, pay upfront and pick up your order at Leeghwater 5. Choose as soon as possible or a time up to two days ahead. The pickup times are on our takeaway page. We do not deliver.

Vuur & Vat, fire and cask, is what we call our two anchors: the fire of the charcoal grill in the kitchen and the cask of twenty-three taps with VAT'33 and guest beers. Dinner and drinks under one roof, without the fuss.
